Margaret Durst has been involved with natural health for over 20 years. In her early 30s, she was faced with a medical diagnosis that recommended a lifetime of prescription drugs. In her heart, she knew that there must be an alternative way to healing and health and thus began her journey into natural health.
Along the way, Margaret has trained with many different natural health practitioners and earned a degree in Naturopathy. She established her nutritional consulting practice and opened The Green House in 2003 to enable her mission of helping people navigate the natural health maze.
People have praised Margaret for intuitive ability to help people address their health issues and goals with diet and lifestyle choices and successfully take responsibility for their health and wellbeing. This comes from Margaret’s deeply held beliefs in the body’s innate ability to heal and in the tools nature provides for health and healing.
After working with people for a number of years, Margaret combined her love of herbs and horses and applied her unique nutritional consulting approach to her second love....horses.
Margaret began working with her own horses using a natural health approach when her horses, one after another, became unrideable and untreatable in traditional terms. Her successes spread and she began helping her friends with their animals. Since her humble beginnings nearly 10 years ago, Margaret has worked with clients and their racing, competition, performance, work, and pleasure horses all over the country.
Her approach to animals is philosophically the same as her approach to people: a recognition of the uniqueness of each animal's body, and the innate ability of the body to heal given the right conditions. She strives to focus on the root cause of health issues rather than a band-aid approach of supressing symptoms.
The nutritional consulting service is based on an intuitive, systemic evaluation of the body’s systems. Her goal is to balance the energetics of the body using supplements and a health-promoting diet. She typically recommends her own equine herbal supplements, Natural Cowgirl.
Her most popular horse care strategy is to perform a nutritional consultation for a horse and develop a custom herbal formula that targets the particular needs of the animal. A custom formula usually does not cost any more than one of her standard products and can focus on a broader health issues of the animal.
What you get is a custom nutritional program based on your needs and goals and your horse's unique body giving you the tools to make significant, positive change in your animal's health. Via email, you will get a detailed summary of her findings. Margaret strives to be straightforward so that the recommendations are simple and easy to implement but highly leveraged to help you make lasting progress along the simplest path.
